Announcing Our Rebrand from Wizardry Labs to Wizard Labs

Back to articles

We’ve dropped a few syllables from our name today. But don’t worry, we’ve kept the magic, and you can still call us wizards. After realizing that we were spending 30% of meetings just pronouncing Wizardry Labs, we decided to drop the “ry” from our name.

When we launched, our name was inspired by the fact that clients that we were working with at the time referred to us as “the wizards” due to our reputation as technical problem solvers. We wanted to preserve this essence while making it more straightforward for our stakeholders to share our name and their experiences. This is why we have officially changed our name from Wizardry Labs to Wizard Labs.

Drop the "RY", just "Wizard Labs". Its cleaner.

Same Wizardry, Updated Branding

Along with our name change comes our new branding, thanks to our talented branding partner, Laura Burkowsky. Laura led the effort to update our brand to match the calibre of projects that we’ve grown into now. Her task was to maintain the boutique feel while demonstrating our growth and confidence in delivering exceptional results to our clients.

Archetypes

Inspired by the works of psychiatrist Carl Jung, our rebranding workshops identified two archetypes that our updated brand is embodying. These archetypes are appropriately named “Magician” and “Creator”.

Magician

The magician archetype is driven to understand and challenge the fundamental laws of the universe. This embodies our commitment to using bleeding-edge technologies to deliver results for our clients. A quality that particularly stood out to us was the magician archetype’s emphasis on focusing on the best outcome. If you’ve ever worked with us, you’ll know that steering objectives toward outcome-driven results is a big part of our mantra and the way we work.

Creator

This one was a no-brainer. The creator archetype is a pioneer in creating new things and expressions of lasting value. A noteworthy quality in this archetype that resonated strongly with us was its constant need to seek new skills. If you’ve ever worked in technology, you’ll know that in this fluid industry, learning new things is an essential ingredient for success.

Values

The re-branding exercise helped us to re-define our values, which ended up being:

  • Boldness
  • Innovation
  • Truth
